I have been in post as the Director of Early Help and Social Care for almost two years now and I feel very privileged to work with some wonderful managers and practitioners. There is an absolute passion for the work that we do here in Trafford and a constant focus on how we can improve the lives of children and families.

Trafford is a great place to work - and we are striving to make it even better. Since our last full Ofsted inspection in March 2019 we have developed and are now delivering an ambitious plan for improving our services - and we are committed to achieving it.

We have now had four subsequent visits from Ofsted and the significant progress and improvement made over that time is clear to see from the letters published after each visit.

This progress is down to the fact that we now have a fantastic team of managers and social workers in place, with a focus on manageable caseloads, supportive teams and a passion to make a positive difference for our children and families. As a new colleague this is the perfect time to join our service!

In 2021 we redesigned our structure based on a clear set of principles to ensure we are giving the right help at the right time to our children and families. Social workers have told us that thanks to these new arrangements, their caseloads are manageable, managers are visible and they are supported to create the space they need to work with our children and young people.
